Congratulations on this first step toward improving your life. Even if you are only considering therapy, this first step of “seeing what’s out there” might be a little anxiety-provoking. You might be wondering how to pick the right therapist for you, or if you even need therapy to begin with. I hope that this site will help to answer some of your questions, and give you an idea of who I am and how I might assist you.
If you have come this far, you may have already decided that you might need some professional help. Unfortunately, there can be a negative stigma about going to see a professional for assistance, and our society seems to promote the idea that seeing a therapist means that there is something wrong with you, or that you’re “crazy.” There could be nothing further from the truth! We live extremely complex lives, experiencing pressures at work, at home, and with our families. Sometimes it can get overwhelming, and sometimes we can feel lost and alone.
Going to a therapist can be intimidating, and therapy can be difficult at times – but I believe that the times that we push ourselves beyond our comfort zones are the times we grow the most. It is my job to provide a safe and secure environment to help you explore yourself and your relationships, and to help you push beyond what is holding you back.
I truly believe that finding the right therapist for you is one of the most important first steps in this process. Ideally, you would want to find a therapist that you feel comfortable with, and yet also confident that the therapist can help you. Because of this, I’m happy to offer a free 30 minute consultation session – so you can meet me and we can explore how I might be able to assist you.
Please contact me directly if you have any more questions, or feel free to schedule a consultation or a therapy appointment below!
